My manager invited me to join him and his “outside-work” friends in their sort of like a Christmas party (they’re not Catholic so they don’t celebrate Christmas here). But I decided not to join them because I wasn’t really on the mood to party.
Then late afternoon, I received a text from one of my Filipina friends here inviting me to go to their unit and join them in their small “salo-salo” (get together). Just in time, right after my gym session, I went straight away on their unit (same condo where I am at) and had dinner with them.
We’re like 10 Filipinos there but I don’t know most of them. As I’ve said, I wasn’t on the mood so I didn’t mind talking to them (does it sounds a bit snob? LOL). After dinner and watching High School Musical and 2 other soooo boring movies of Lindsay Lohan, I went back to my unit.
To tell you frankly, this was my loneliest Christmas ever! But celebrating it in an Islamic country, I didn’t expect much…
