Friday is my favorite day of the week or should I say most of us do. Do I need to explain more? But last Friday was disaster and dreadful for me.
I started the day with delight waiting for the weekend to come. I came to the office early so I can go home on time. But I was forced to go home early with appalling reason. I was FOOD POISONED!
We just decided to eat our Friday lunch-out on the Filipino canteen that we usually go for lunch everyday. I ordered fish and vegetables which were just the same as what my friends ordered too. I was so full as always. Right after lunch, three of us went to the Maybank’s cafeteria to buy fruits. I bought a slice of papaya and ate it on my cube. It was just ok.
But after an hour, I started to feel something strange. My stomach started to react oddly. I thought it was just a normal stomach ache or slight diarrhea. But it even got worst after a few minutes or so; I puked twice and started to feel dizzy. Since I can’t concentrate on my work, I just decided to ask for a leave and go home immediately. I vomited twice at home and suffered from painful stomach ache. Vomiting 4 times really makes my body weak. Honestly, I don’t know what to do. I don’t even know what medicine to take. But I know it was really something about the food that I ate. I knew I was food poisoned. So I drank a lot of water so I won’t be dehydrated, I ate chocolates as what my housemate told me, and had enough SLEEP. When I woke up, I already have a fever but I felt a bit relief on my stomach. I just took a paracetamol for my fever and ate solid foods for dinner. The next day, I was glad that I was already feeling OK. Though I still have a slight fever, but I know I just need to take more rest and I’ll be ok.
THANK GOD that it wasn’t really that serious. THANK GOD that it happened on weekend so I won’t have to take a leave of absence. THANK GOD that I am OK now.
And from now on, I’ll just buy FRESH fruits in the market and will PREPARE it myself.
Before I forgot, thanks Anai for researching and giving me info about food poisoning hahaha.
