Trip to Philippines
I must admit that I've somehow lost interest in blogging, not that I don't have something to blog about, but I just merely can't find the rhythm and time to do it. I hate it! I also felt that it somehow became an obligation rather than a therapy for me. But now, I am trying to recall some events that happened to me these past weeks. Please bear with me.

I would say that last month was my busiest month to date! I was piled up with tons of work on my plate. I always stayed up late and even worked weekends just to finish the tasks given. It was really so stressful in my part but I don’t have a choice because this is part of my work. But don't get me wrong, I still love my job. Though at times I really want to give up and try something else hehe.

Just in time, I had my 3-wk planned vacation (2 weeks in Manila and 1 wk here in KL). But believe me, up to the last minute of the day of my flight, issues were coming left and right. In fact, I still went over time trying to finish some tasks. But as I anticipated, I did not able to finish some of them so I handed them off to my colleague.

I flew to Manila last May 18 via Cebu Pacific Air. I stayed there for 2 weeks. Unlike last time, I spent my days mostly at home. One reason is the weather condition. It was so hot and humid! Malaysia is also a tropical place but not as humid as Philippines. Secondly, cost-cutting! Haha. 500 pesos will bring you nowhere. One day out will cost you more than 1K pesos. Not to mention the shopping of course. So I chose to stick my butt off instead. Hehe

But I still managed to see my former teammates and friends like Almer, Thea, Stu, and Arthur. Also my former batchmates Rye and Cathy. I met up with them in Starbucks in Cybergate where their new building is located. It was a fun talk especially the "kulitan" and "laitan" session with Cathy hehe.

After that I met up with Ochie, one of my beloved best friends. Supposedly with Gilbert too but he wasn't in the office that time. We sat down and talked for hours in Starbucks talking anything under the sun. Last thing we knew, it was already time to go home hehe. As always, it was fun talking to you! Miss you girl! Oh before I forgot, Gilbert next time, don't go to spa during office hours! *wink *wink

However, the main reason of my vacation is to spend more time with my family especially to my sister which also spending her vacation from Dubai. When I flew to US for onshore last 2005, a month later she flew to Dubai. So it’s been almost 2 years the last time we saw each other. So even we just stayed at home, went to mall, watched movie, having her and my brother with me is already exceptional and special for me.

May 29, I flew back to KL with my sister. I brought tickets for both of them. Unfortunately, my brother can't make it because his passport was illegally used by other person. So he has to fix it first before he can go out of our country; too bad, but there's still another time though. And when we think everything is ok, they noticed that my sister's passport will nearly expire in 5 months time in which Malaysia only allows passport that will at least expire in 6 months. So they printed a waiver just in case the Malaysia immigration questioned her passport's expiration. Fortunately, they allow her to enter Malaysia without any further questions.

Too bad because I don't know many places here in KL other than the Petronas Tower and couple of malls hehe so we ended up hanging around on those places only. Next time I will do some research promise. And will bring you to many places.

My sister promised to buy a laptop for my younger brother. And the best place to go is none other than Lowyat! So we planned a day to go there and look for a best buy. After choosing from different brand, specs, and everything, we ended up buying an Acer laptop for only 1800RM! Cheap it is! Promise, the specs are already good enough for a student and personal use! Since its way cheaper than what they hay in Dubai, my sister also bought for herself. So we came home with two laptops in hand. Hehehe.

What we thought a great buy turned out to be a disaster (just a little though). We always hang-up whenever we use the enable/disable functions of the wireless adapter in the startup icon. However, if we use the enable/disable button in the PC, it was working perfectly. Weird, right? So we went back to the store to let them fix the problem.

We stayed in Lowyat for whole day again! To buy our time, we decided to go to Sungei Wang to go for a little window shopping, food tripping, and such. And when we returned back to the store, they still haven't resolved the problem. They already consulted a lot of technicians but none can figure out why that thing happened. Then later that afternoon they said that the driver of our network adapter is made for Windows Vista OS and not on Windows XP that we purchased. I was really pissed off that night that I really wanna return back the laptop to them. But honestly, it was just a minor problem. I just really want everything’s working perfectly… but like what happened, it didn't turn out that right. Anyhow, we just decided to bring home the laptop again and monitor the condition. To be honest, the laptop was nice except for that flaw. But they can actually use the button in front of the laptop instead of the one in the icon if they want to enable/disable the wireless adapter. I just became somehow OC (if that’s the correct term for that) hehe.

Because of that, we ran out of time to go to Genting. I would love to bring her there but due to time constraint we decided to just stay here in KL and do the last minute shopping in Central Market.

My sister flew back in Manila on June 4. She’ll spend for another week there before she goes back to Dubai.

To be honest, I felt sad to see her go. I am very emotional type of guy but I am not showy in front of my family. I am pretending to be strong but the truth is I am not. So instead of showing my emotions, I stayed stiff. I even failed to hug her for that matter. But she knows how much I really really love her…

Anyway, we'll gonna see each other again next year as she’s planning to have a vacation on
Feb 2008! Hmmm I am still thinking where we can go that time… Thailand? =)

As I write this blog, I am already missing you so much… Can't wait to see you soon!
